Sun Island – Bolivia Salt Flats

Today’s photo of the week comes from the magical country of Bolivia. Kristin and I visited the Uyuni salt flats earlier this year and came across whats known as sun island covered with massive cacti. These cacti are over 1000 years old and grow as large as 9-10 meters (30 feet). Its hard to gain perspective unless you are there but this place was one of the highlights of our time in Bolivia. Actually in all of South America. If you have the chance to see this place I highly recommend it! Happy travels!
