The Resort At Pelican Hill: William & Chi’s Newport Wedding

Choosing The Resort At Pelican Hill in Newport Coast, created the perfect wedding day escape for Chi and Williams’s guests. Pairing this with the exquisite outdoor wedding venue decor & planning by A Good Affair, and the couples wedding dreams became a beautiful reality.

“Fun, beautiful and memorable,” that is how Chi describes her wedding day. Both Chi and her husband William wanted a destination wedding, something that would not only reflect their love of travel but would be a welcome vacation to the friends and family attending.

From the bride’s bouquets to the fabulous domed gazebos, crowned with soft pink and white flowers to the flower chandeliers hanging above the guests, the myriad of stunning flowers provided by Hidden Gardens made this outdoor wedding venue even more magical.

Chi explained, “Every detail was considered, from the mirrored tables to the geometric light fixtures and down to the glassware and charger plates were considered and picked out carefully. In the end, everything was given a nice clean modern look that fit our personal taste perfectly.”

The bride walked down the aisle amid rose petals, wearing an elegant, strapless, white Netta BenShabu gown with detailed bodice. The bridesmaids echoed the palette wearing rose gold and blush. The groom wore an ivory suit jacket while the  groomsmen donned black.

The couple wanted the reception to be fun for all of the guests and they certainly accomplished this by their choice Cotton Candy topped drinks and the unique entertainment they provided for their guests, Fire Dancers!

One of the more personalized details of the wedding were the gowns worn during the reception, one being a traditional Vietnamese wedding gown and the other being a gown made by the mother of the bride.

Chi closes with, “There were many great moments but i think the best was seeing our families together having such a great time at the reception. One of our primary goals was to make this wedding a real party where it was just not all about us. We wanted to make it worthwhile for the kids and all the guests travelling a great distance to get there.”
